G.L.O.B.E (John Miller), of The Soulsonic Force joined up with up & coming DJ Whiz Kid (Harold McQuire) to create "Play That Beat Mr. DJ”, which was one of the first releases on Tommy Boy Records in 1983 and is considered a seminal hip hop track.
