Amber
Born in the Netherlands and growing up in Germany with a family background that was enriched in classical music -- her father being an opera singer while her mother being a piano teacher and occasional composer -- Amber knew that her eventual profession would involve music in one way or another. With some time spent as a studio singer, with club and fashion show performances and singing competitions, Amber wrote the single "This Is Your Night," which was pitched to Tommy Boy Records in 1995. She got signed with a multi album deal and it not only became an international hit, but it also made it to almost every dance party compilation. It was also licensed and featured in the movie 'A night at the Roxbury' with a memorable dance scene in a nightclub between Will Ferrell, Kris Kattan and their 2 love interests. Under her debut full-length album in 1997, under the same name as her first hit, Amber would also release the additional singles "Colour of Love," and 1997's "One More Night." In 1998, she collaborated with Ultra Nate´ and Jocelyn Enriquez on the classic title 'If you could read my mind' for the soundtrack of the movie '54', featuring Mike Meyers, Ryan Phillippe, Salma Hayek. The group 'Stars on 54 also performed the actual title in the ending scene of the movie '54'. Her second self-titled album followed in 1999 with the title 'Sexual (li da di)' which she co- wrote with Billy Steinberg and Rick Nowels and reigned the top of the Club dance charts for 19 weeks. It was then followed up with the single 'Above the clouds'. Having amassed such a string of hits over a short period of time, a remix album of her works was then released in 2000, with remixes by Deep Dish, Junior Vasquez, Thunderpuss, Eric Kupper, Hani, Mousse T and Hex Hector. She then went on to co-produce and co- write her album 'Naked', which was released over the restructured label Tommy Boy Entertainment in 2002 with 3 consecutive #1 club singles 'Yes'. 'The need to be naked' and 'Anyway (men are from Mars)'. She then founded her own label JMCA Enterprises in 2004 and has since been an independent artist per her own choice, under which she released further music.
